Police seek witnesses of daytime assault on 17-year-old girl

The Prince George RCMP is looking for witnesses to a daytime assault that occurred on Wednesday.

At 11 a.m. on November 17, the Prince George RCMP responded to a report of an assault on a 17-year-old girl in the 1700-block of Fourth Avenue.

The suspect is described as a larger built Caucasian man, possibly around six feet tall, wearing a black sweater and runners. The victim states the suspect might have a beard. At the time of the assault, the victim was wearing a red jacket and carrying a green backpack.

“Investigators do not believe the suspect is known by the victim,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper. “We are looking for anyone who was driving in that area between 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. that either witnessed the assault or else who has dash cam footage from that time period to contact the detachment to speak with police.”

This file is still under investigation.
