2022 BC Summer Games Host Society kicks off Friends of the Games sponsorship campaign

BC Summer Games Host Society President Renee McCloskey kicked off the official start of the Friends of the Games sponsorship campaign with the announcement this morning of local organizations already on board.

During the 32nd 2022 BC Summer Games, which will take place July 21-24, 2022, Prince George will welcome up to 3,761 participants. This will be the first time Prince George has hosted the provincial event since 1990. The 2022 event requires both financial and in-kind support.

“The young athletes coming to Prince George for the 2022 BC Summer Games inspire us to plan an exceptional experience for them,” said McCloskey. “The generous support of our partners and Friends of Games ensures we will deliver on that. The spirit of community that lives here will make these games the best ever.”

Today, several local businesses and organizations launched the campaign with generous financial and in-kind support. Sponsors include: The Regional District of Fraser Fort George, Canadian Tire, Scotiabank, the City of Prince George, and School District 57.

Selen Alpay, Associate Dealer of Canadian Tire- Prince George, shared the importance of local organizations supporting the event, stating: “Sport has the power to bring a community together. In 2022, we know our community will shine as host of the 2022 BC Summer Games and Canadian Tire is proud to be a part of it.”
