Prince George police kept busy on Halloween night

While Halloween is an exciting time of year for kids and ghouls, for the police officers working during this year’s Halloween festivities, it was a busier day than usual, but normal for Halloween.

“Our normal file count for a Sunday in October is 118 files in tota,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP. “On Halloween we had a 22 per cent increase in the amount of files we see on a Sunday, for a total of 145 files.”

Calls to police were relatively steady throughout the afternoon and evening.

Files on Halloween have stayed standard over the last three years, with the average file count on Halloween being 145. Police responded predominantly to complaints of suspicious people and events, which might not be out of place on a night dedicated to tricks and treats.
