Spruce Kings’ win streak comes to an end

Despite a fantastic effort from Aaron Trotter, making 36 saves, the Prince George Spruce Kings win streak came to an end tonight, falling to the Pentciton Vees by a 3-0 score.

2nd PERIOD:

PEN: On a Vees power-play, Vees captain Fin Williams spotted Luc Wilson  at the bottom of the right circle and the puck went off his skate and by Aaron Trotter to give the Vees the lead. Wilson’s team leading fifth of the year came at 6:18 from Williams and Ryan Hopkins.

PEN: A few moments later, the Vees struck again, courtesy of an Ethan Mann wrister from the right circle to give Penticton a two-goal lead. Mann’s first of the season was assisted by both Luke Vardy and Frank Djurasevic at 6:49.

PEN: With the Spruce Kings net empty, Jackson Nieuwendyk got the puck at centre and ripped it into the empty cage to secure the game for the Vees. Nieuwendyk’s first of the year was assisted by Case McDonald at 17:59.
