Walmart Canada’s newly remodelled 163,000-square-foot Prince George Walmart re-opened to the community Thursday following a $4 million re-vamp.

“We are very excited to unveil our renovated store to the Prince George community,” said store manager David Lucente. “We aim to make the shopping experience simpler, faster, convenient and more pleasant for our customers. Our customers will benefit from having an expanded assortment of products and the ability to choose to shop in-store or online with in-store pickup or home delivery.”

The updated store boasts an expanded toy department, a new international grocery aisle featuring products from around the world and Naoki Sushi for takeout sushi. The store also features a contemporary look and feel with a new colour palette, front façade, in-store signage and lighting.

With the conversion adding 45 new positions, the remodelled store will employ more than 270 people.

“Walmart is a great place to build a career,” said Lucente, who has worked at Walmart for more than 20 years. Individuals interested in applying for store positions can visit
