City looking at impact of new health orders

The City of Prince George is working to determine how new Public Health Orders, which apply to most of the Northern Health region including Prince George, will affect city services and guests to civic facilities.

“The city is working with Northern Health to determine how the orders will be implemented by the City of Prince George,” says Adam Davey, Director of Public Safety. “We are continuing to seek clarification from the province and are fully committed to any necessary measures to ensure our staff and our citizens are safe and healthy.”

In particular, the city is working to determine whether any events scheduled for city facilities, including the CN Centre and the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre, will be affected by the new orders. No scheduled events are cancelled at this time. The logistics of scanning vaccine passports and IDs at multiple points of entry will be considered along with the required health and safety protocols.

Currently, the city does not anticipate any effect on Aquatic Services.
