United Way hosting barbecue fundraiser

On October 14, 15 and 16, between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., the staff and volunteers from United Way of Northern BC will be at KMS Tools Equipment at 101 Queensway in Prince George for a fundraising barbecue.

To help bring the much needed support to those in need, UWNBC will be serving smokies and will be accepting a financial donation winter clothing items, or non-perishable food items. If you are able to, please consider donating new or gently used clothing items for cold and wet weather, such as socks, gloves, jackets, scarves, and toques or donate non perishable food item(s) and help us bring some warmth to those in need in Prince George

“While the days get colder and the wind picks up, we are reminded of those who are less fortunate and in need with the change in seasons,” said Trista Spencer, executive director, United Way of Northern B.C. “So in light of helping where it’s needed most and making sure that we meet our mission to connect resource with local need, we are accepting outdoor clothing, socks, and non-perishable food in addition to monetary donations. We hope tha the people of Prince George will once again come forward to help make sure that everyone has what they need to live, to stay warm, and to be cared for as move into a season that affects some more than others.”
