The U18 female Capitals swept a weekend doubleheader against the Greater Vancouver Comets with a 6-0 victory on Saturday and a 3-1 decision on Sunday.
On Saturday at Kin 1, Karsyn Niven gave the Capitals shutout goaltending, and the offence was clicking on all cylinders. The home team got a pair of goals from Camryn Ward and singles off the sticks of Abby Bryant, Hailey Armstrong (power play), Rachel Loewen and Ella Boon.
Armstrong and Boon both finished with two points.
The Capitals led 3-0 after the first period and 5-0 after the second.
Kennedy Lonson was the losing goaltender.
On Sunday at Kin 2, Sydney MacKay of the Comets opened the scoring early in the second period, and the visitors held the lead until half way through the third when Brooklyn Hutchings drew the Capitals even. Hutchings struck again with 5:23 left on the clock and Maria Ayre rounded out the scoring with 1:12 to go.
Sierra Eagles was the winning goaltender and Alexis Strehlau took the loss.
The Capitals will be in Surrey from Friday through Sunday for two games against the Fraser Valley Rush, one against the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers and one against the Vancouver Island Seals.

In other weekend results, the U15 Cougars dropped 3-2 and 6-1 decisions to the Vancouver Northeast Chiefs in Burnaby. Magnus Veldman had both goals for the Cougars on Saturday, and Preston Pierre was the Sunday goal-scorer.
The Cats will play at home next weekend against the Greater Vancouver Canadians. The games are scheduled for Saturday at 1:15 p.m. and Sunday at 9:30 a.m., both at Kin 1.
