Over the last several months, RDFFG has been working with the RDBN and the Town of Smithers to develop a web mapping framework that will allow users to access property information across Jurisdictions from the same website. This means mapping data for all three local governments will be available in one location, which saves time for users and creates efficiencies and opportunities for the partnering local governments.
“This type of model allows municipalities and regional districts to realize benefits with pooling technical skills and resources. Some of the features provided would otherwise be unavailable to smaller participants,” said Steve Botham, Manager of Information Technology with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.
“The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako appreciates the opportunity to cooperate with the Regional District Fraser-Fort George and the Town of Smithers on this mapping project allowing for increased cost-effective services to residents” said Jason Llewellyn, Director of Planning for the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako.
“This initiative will provide the community with convenient access to mapping information. We look forwards to the benefits of this shared model and the improved level of service that can be provided to users,” said Mark Allen, General Manager, Integrated Growth & Infrastructure with the Town of Smithers.
