COVID-19: Eighteen Jubilee Lodge residents infected

Ongoing monitoring and testing has identified additional COVID-19 cases associated with the outbreak declared September 5, 2021 for Jubilee Lodge in Prince George.

To date, there have been 18 residents, two of which have been epi-linked, and one staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Enhanced outbreak control measures are in effect at Jubilee Lodge.

Northern Health Public Health is closely monitoring for additional cases, and the facility is taking steps to protect the health of staff and those they care for, with enhanced outbreak precautions such as (but not limited to):

  • Increased frequency of cleaning and infection control measures
  • Enhanced symptom monitoring among all staff and residents
  • Reducing movement of staff and residents in the facility
  • Temporary suspension of social visits (essential visits are not impacted, and can continue)

Public health officials will be monitoring the situation carefully over coming weeks and will only declare the outbreak over when they are confident that chains of transmission have been stopped.
