The Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew seized suspected illicit drugs after a recent investigation into drug trafficking in Prince George.
On August 25, police executed a search warrant on a residence on the 1300 block of Eaglet Crescent.
Inside the home, police located a quantity of suspected illicit drugs, including what appears to be cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine. Police also seized drug paraphernalia and a firearm.
Investigators arrested two men from inside the residence. One was released pending laboratory results and subsequent charge approval from the Public Prosecutions Service of Canada. Police held the second man for a court date as he was in breach of his court ordered conditions. Investigators are familiar with both of the men arrested.
“We see that drug trafficking is fuelling the property crime and violence and, most notably, an increase in firearm offences,” said
Sgt. Chad Chamberlain, head of the Street Crew Unit. “The Street Crew unit continues to target those groups responsible for causing and perpetuating these issues, and remains committed to removing illegal firearms from our streets.”
This investigation is ongoing.
