Police held an extended presence in the Hart yesterday while looking for a suspect after a report of an assault.
Shortly before 9 a.m. Prince George RCMP received a call about an assault on the 2500 block of Grant Road.
Police attended the location and, with the assistance of on-duty members of the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services, located the suspect without incident.
“Police were on Grant Road for a lengthy time as we wanted to ensure this situation came to a safe resolution for the suspect and for our members. We want to thank the residents in the area who waited patiently to return to their homes after being evacuated by police early in the morning,”
said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Police located and arrested the suspect and held him in custody for court this morning.
