An investigation into drug trafficking in the Millar Addition area resulted in charge approval by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada last month.
The Public Prosecution Service of Canada approved the following charges against 23-year-old Prince George resident Damiond Rain Craig Sutherland:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
- Unauthorized Possession of a Loaded, Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited
On August 7, 2020, the Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit (SCU) began an investigation into drug trafficking on the 1600 block of Kenwood Street. Police executed a search warrant on the residence and located illicit drugs and several firearms.
“Police seized enough fentanyl to produce 760 doses and the amount of cocaine seized could make over 100 doses,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP. “Together, this would have generated over $35,000 in drug-related revenue. These quantities are concerning to police in Prince George, especially in light of the ongoing opioid crisis.”
