Regional district urges campfire caution

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is urging extreme caution with campfires over the long weekend.
Though the BC Wildfire Service has rescinded a campfire ban for the Prince George Fire Centre, the fire danger rating in parts of the regional district I including the Robson Valley remains high to extreme.
With hot, dry weather forecasted for the long weekend, the regional district is asking the public to consider refraining from burning of any type over the long weekend, especially within the Robson Valley.
While most parts of the Prince George Fire Centre sit at a moderate fire danger rating, the Robson Valley area is still listed at high to extreme so the regional district is asking people to not take any chances when it comes to wildfire and refrain from campfires at this time.
