Fire department rescinds open burning ban

Effectively immediately, Prince George Fire and Rescue Services has rescinded its ban on open burning in the City of Prince George that was issued on June 30, 2021. This follows the lifting of the BC Wildfire Service’s campfire ban in the Prince George and Northwest Fire Centres earlier today.

The ban continues to apply to fireworks.

“While recent rainfall and cooler temperatures have allowed us to again allow open burning in the City, residents should exercise caution with campfires and maintain control of any fires on their property,” says Prince George Fire Chief, John Iverson.
