Hope Air receives $10k each from LNG Canada and Coastal GasLink

Hope Air is receiving $10,000 each from LNG Canada and Coastal GasLink.
The funding will help patients from communities like Kitimat, Terrace, Smithers, Prince Rupert and Prince George reach medical treatment centres  in Vancouver.
This joint commitment provides approximately 80 medical flights and accommodations for people in financial and medical need. All Canadians should have equal access to medical care, but not everyone does. For Canadians in financial need who live in communities that do not offer specialized care, cost and distance are huge barriers to reaching medical treatments and appointments. More than 30 per cent of patients living in British Columbia would cancel their medical appointments without travel support from Hope Air.
Coastal GasLink and LNG Canada’s gifts help improve the health and quality of life for people in the cities and towns where they are building their respective projects, and aligns with their values of giving back to those communities.
“Individuals and families in northern and rural communities can face challenges accessing specialized medical services and at LNG Canada we want to help by removing travel barriers they may encounter. We are proud to support Hope Air as they provide these vital services to residents of the north,” said Denita McKnight, Director Corporate Affairs at LNG Canada.
Hope Air  is Canada’s only national charity providing flights and accommodations to those in financial need who must travel for medical care.
