Another temperature record broken

It was cooler yesterday, but a record-breaker none-the-less.

According to Environment Canada, the temperature reached 33.9 degrees Celsius in Prince George on Wednesday, June 30. Previously, the hottest June 30 on record was 29.4 degrees Celsius in 2008.

Today’s forecast is sunny early this morning then a mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of showers this afternoon. Risk of a thunderstorm and hail this afternoon. Hazy. Wind light except gusting to 70 km/h near thunderstorms this afternoon. High 28. Humidex 31. UV index 7 or high. The July 1 temperature record of 32.8 degrees Celsius, set in 1942, will likely remain intact.

A heat warning remains in effect.
