Rally in support of Palestinian people slated for Wednesday in CN Centre parking lot

A rally in support of the people of Palestine will be held Wednesday, May 19, at 4:45 p.m. in the CN Centre parking lot.

“We are holding a peaceful gathering at the CN Centre public parking lots (closest to Ospika) on Wednesday May 19 at 4:45pm,” say organizers in a Facebook post. “A few short speeches will be made at 5 p.m. Please let us know if you would like to speak in support of Palestine. Gatherers will be welcome afterwards to safely stand on the Ospika Blvd. sidewalk or grassed-area and wave posters and signs. We pray for peace in the region. No lives should be endangered or lost.
“Violence, hate speech, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or derogatory/hate comments made regarding Palestinian or Israeli civilians will not be tolerated, and you will be asked to stop or leave. We ask that you remain respectful.”

Dozens have been killed in past week as Israeli and Hamas forces fire rockets at each other.
