Big Swing Fore Kids golf tournament supports Big Brothers Big Sisters

This June Big Brothers Big Sisters is encouraging everyone to hit the links in support of local children and youth.  The Big Swing Fore Kids is a golf tournament that looks a lot different that your typical golf tournament.

“Last year our Glow in the Dark Golf Tournament sold out hours with a significant waitlist,” said Jane Gauthier, communications manager.  “This year we planned to hold the tournament twice, once in June and once in August.  However, with the current restrictions in place we chose to cancel our June glow tournament. We are really excited to have a developed a new look golf tournament that will allow people to support our programming in a safe way.”

The Big Swing Fore Kids runs June 1-30.  Teams sign up through the Big Brothers Big Sisters website.  Each team receives a gift certificate for a round of golf at Pine Valley, dinner at Mr. Mikes and some other swag.  You can book your golf time anytime you want over the month and once you complete your nine holes you send your scorecard in.   Not only can you golf on your schedule, you and your team can register more than once!  Team registration is $200 and opened today.

“For those interested in the third annual Glow in the Dark Tournament.  Don’t worry the event is scheduled to return in August as long as restrictions allow,” said Gauthier.  “Support from the Big Swing Fore Kids campaign will support programming at Big Brothers Big Sisters such as their new Connect: Golf Program that matches a small group of kids with a mentor to participate in golf lessons with an instructor over the summer.”
