Ethan Bowen’s two goals, and a 26-save shutout by Mathieu Caron was the difference last night, as the Prince George Spruce Kings dropped their second consecutive game by a 3-0 decision against the Chilliwack Chiefs. Connor Milburn, and Ethan Bowen (2) were the two goal scorers in the Chilliwack victory.
In the second period Trevor Longo found Chiefs forward Connor Milburn on a partial break and it was Milburn who ripped it top corner over the shoulder from Aaron Trotter from the right circle to give the Chiefs a 1-0 lead. Millburn’s first in the pod was assisted by Longo at 10:20 of the second frame.
At 15:57 of the third, on a Chiefs power-play, Ethan Bowen wheeled around a Spruce Kings defender with a lot of speed and put it through the wickets of Trotter to give the Chiefs a 2-0 lead. The power-play marker and also Bowen’s ninth of the pod had the lone helper credited to Abram Wiebe.
With the Spruce Kings net empty, it was again Bowen who ended up getting the puck at the left side and ripped it in the open cage at 19:59 to seal the deal for Chilliwack. Bowen’s second of the game and 10th in the pod was assisted by Kyle Penney and Connor Milburn.
