Man stabbed on city bus

A man is in custody following a possible stabbing on a city bus Tuesday.

At 6 p.m. on March 9, the Prince George RCMP received an emergency call from a passenger on a city bus who stated they just witnessed a man stab another passenger in the leg.

Officers and police dog services units flooded the surrounding area to wait for information about the suspect while still others went to the parked bus at Fifth Avenue near Watrous Street. Members on scene at the bus provided a description of the suspect to officers and within five minutes, police arrested the suspect leaving the area.

Police identified the suspect as 50-year-old Robin Fleury of Prince George. Members transported Fleury to the RCMP detachment where he remained until his first court appearance. The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved charges of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and obstructing a police officer.

Emergency Health Services transported the victim to hospital with serious injuries to his leg.
