One Monday council passed the first and second reading of a proposed student housing development, which would be constructed at the corner of Tyner and Ospika Boulevards, at 4500 Ospika. The 256-unit apartment building would be available both to UNBC and CNC students. The rezoning of this development will require a public hearing.
Council approved for final reading a zoning classification for integrated health and housing developments. This zoning is being applied initially to the current location of NR Motors on First Avenue, which will be the site of a project involving the City, BC Housing, and Northern Health to provide affordable housing and health-care services.
Council also passed the final reading for the development of a supportive housing complex by M’akola Development Services for the Aboriginal Housing Society of Prince George to be located on 17th Avenue, near the intersection with Winnipeg Street.
