Council to decide whether to permanently close Four Seasons Pool

City council is poised to make a decision tonight on whether to permanently close the Four Seasons Pool.

On March 16 last year the Four Seasons Leisure Pool and the P.G. Aquatic Centre closed due to COVID-19. On September 8, the Aquatic Centre reopened with reduced operations and the Four Seasons Pool remains closed. Construction also started last year on a replacement of the Four Seasons Pool, however that won’t be completed for some time.

The permanent closure of the Four Seasons Pool may result in an eventual annual operating savings of between $150,000 and $200,000.

A report from city staff asking for council’s direction will be debated tonight.
