Mounties from the Prince George RCMP are crediting a sharp-eyed member of the public for potentially spotting some stolen items from a break and enter on February 8.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on February 10, an anonymous caller contacted the Prince George RCMP to report there was a man in a parking lot near Second Avenue and George Street who appeared to be looking at some hockey cards. The caller was concerned they might be the cards stolen from a local business.
Officers attended the area and found the man in question. Members seized the hockey cards as evidence and released the man without process. The cards will be compared to those listed as stolen and then returned to their rightful owner. Members will consider charges pending the result of this investigation.
“The Prince George RCMP thanks the member of the public who called in the suspicious activity they witnessed,” said Const. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP. “Their quick thinking helped to move this investigation forward.”
