COVID-19 outbreak declared over at University Hospital of Northern BC – Internal Medicine Unit

Northern Health Medical Health Officers have declared an end to a COVID-19 outbreak on the Internal Medicine Unit at the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) in Prince George.

In total since the outbreak was declared December 29, 2020, 21 patient cases and 12 staff cases of COVID-19 were associated with the IMU outbreak, as well as 9 patient deaths. There have been no new lab-confirmed cases related to the outbreak since January 12, 2021. 

Northern Health Public Health continues to actively monitor and follow up all laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 among staff and patients at any NH facilities.
