Central Mountain Air resumes service to Fort Nelson

Central Mountain Air will be resuming regular scheduled flight services from Prince George to Fort Nelson sooner than initially planned, with the first flight planned for Thursday, February 18.

It announced last month that service would be suspended from February 3, to at least April 5.

“Central Mountain Air applauds regional government officials and the Fort Nelson and District Chamber of Commerce for advocating so strongly for this vital connectivity,” the company said in a news release. “The result has been that the B.C .provincial and federal governments worked through an approach to enable Central Mountain Air to continue to provide essential air service connectivity to Fort Nelson. These groups were eager to find a responsible solution and we admire their action.”

Service will re-start with twice-weekly service, with a plan to grow frequency with more favourable travel guidelines and demand.
