The team that organized Candy Cruise Prince George has launched the next big idea. The Family Day Adventure Cruise, set for Family Day on February 15, is a free, fun, family friendly, safe and city wide experience that has big pay offs. No registration is required, households are encouraged to download and follow the Adventure Card as it leads you on a quest to get as many (or as few) of the 25 activities completed as you can in five hours.
These objectives will take you all over the city as you capture photos, complete tasks and pick up free giveaway items (cookies, swag, drinks etc). To ensure that everyone in Prince George can take part most activities can be can be completed by using public transit, walking and only a few can only be done by car.
“More than ever we need to work together as a city to help the mental health and mood our of community,” said Dave Horton, who organized Candy Cruise Prince George. “This latest lock down is needed but it’s taking its toll on folks, for sure. The 25 activities that folks will need to complete are spread out around the city and have been planned to prevent any crowding. It’s going to be that shot of fun, play and memory making with your loved ones that is so needed right now.”

“I wish we could release the list of everything we are doing right now but we need to keep a lot of it secret to make the competition fair,” said Dayna Penson who is helping organize. “People need to get excited about this trusting that we have something great. Big Brothers Big Sisters, Westwood Church, Downtown PG, the United Way, Tano Fuel and other organizations are planning some amazing experiences and giveaways. We will release the Adventure Day Card that lists the 25 activities on February 15 right before 11 a.m. and then people are free to do them in whatever order they want until 4 p.m.”
To be entered to win some amazing prizes print or download the Adventure Cruise Card, mark the card when you complete challenges on Feb 15. Take pictures and post them (and a copy of your filled card) to Instagram or Facebook before 10am on February 16th with the #pgadventurecruise. Winners will be drawn from different categories (completed card, partial card, best photo, random photo draw and more!).
