One person has been airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital following a two-vehicle accident on Ospika Boulevard this morning.
Ospika Boulevard was closed for some time but emergency crews have reopened traffic following the accident between Range Road and Davis Road.
Investigators have determined that the driver of a vehicle heading northbound on Ospika Boulevard lost control of the vehicle coming out of a bend in the road which crossed the centre median, entering into southbound traffic where it collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Emergency crews transported both drivers to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. The driver of the first vehicle has since been air lifted to Vancouver General Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the second vehicle received treatment and was released from hospital this afternoon.
“It is unknown at this time what all the causal factors are in this incident,” said Const. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP. “Mechanical data will be collected from both vehicles to aid investigators in making their determination.”
