Arrest made in connection with weekend stabbing

A man has been arrested in Alberta in connection with a stabbing in Prince George Saturday.

Due to the work of members on the Prince George RCMP’s Investigative Support Team, Serious Crime Unit and frontline members, police in Grand Prairie, apprehended the suspect Sunday, now identified as 28-year-old Jacob Johan Vanderminne.

“Jacob Vanderminne’s arrest would not have been possible so quickly without information provided to police from the public,” said Const. Jennifer Cooper of the Prince George RCMP.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved one charge of aggravated assault against Jacob Vanderminne.

This investigation is still ongoing.
