Northern Health has provided the following update to COVID-19 outbreaks in the area:
COVID-19 Outbreak declared December 12, 2020 – Jubilee Lodge
Since the outbreak was declared at Jubilee Lodge, 48 residents have tested positive for COVID-19, along with 14 staff. Fourteen residents who had tested positive have died since the outbreak was declared.
As of January 22, just two of the Jubilee resident cases remain active (the remainder, 32, are now considered recovered).
COVID-19 Outbreak declared December 29, 2020 – UHNBC Internal Medicine (IMU)
On December 29, 2020, Northern Health Medical Health Officers declared an outbreak on the Internal Medicine Unit at University Hospital of Northern BC.
As of January 22, 2021, 20 patients and 12 staff have tested positive for COVID-19 related to the IMU outbreak. Five patient deaths have been associated with the outbreak, to date.
COVID-19 Outbreak declared January 4, 2021 – UHNBC Rehab Unit
NH Medical Health Officers declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the Rehab Unit at UHNBC, following a lab-confirmed, case of COVID-19 in a rehab patient. Monitoring and testing identified two additional cases, for a total of three patient cases since the outbreak began. There have been no additional cases since the previous update.
