Prince George city council will begin its 2021 budget deliberations on Monday, January 25, at 3:30 pm.
It is customary for council to provide opportunities for members of the public to attend in-person and provide input on the budget during each budget meeting. However, this will not be possible this year because of ongoing public health restrictions that are precluding public attendance at the budget meetings. Nevertheless, council is providing opportunities for the public to provide written or verbal input about the budget via email, hand-delivered letter, or telephone.
Written submissions can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or dropped off at the Service Centre on the ground floor of City Hall. The deadline is noon, Monday, January 25. Input about the 2021 budget can also be provided over the telephone and residents are encouraged to pre-register if they wish to address Council over the phone.
More information is available on the Council Calendar web page: https://calendar.princegeorge.ca/council
These opportunities are in addition to a budget survey and Talktober town hall that were hosted by the City in the fall to gain public input about 2021 budget priorities. A summary of the information received from the public will be provided to Council at the beginning of the first budget meeting. A summary is also available on the City website at www.princegeorge.ca/getinvolved.
Budget meetings will be livestreamed via the City website: www.princegeorge.ca/council.
