TV thieves didn’t make it far

Police were on the scene quickly … even in the wee hours … and nabbed three people trying to make off with a brand new TV.

The Prince George RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at City Furniture, located at 1303 Third Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. Monday.

“Mounties were at the location within three minutes of receiving the dispatch call,” said Const. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP. “This quick action allowed members to catch three people at the corner of Quebec Street and Sixth Avenue carrying a 58” Samsung TV, still in its original packaging.”

The television is valued at $1300.

Police identified 30-year-old Samantha Nicole Peterson, 49-year-old Robin Colin Fleury and 27-year-old Bruce Cassidy Nelson as the people who broke into the City Furniture location. The British Columbia Prosecution Service has charged all three of them with break and enter with intent to commit an offence.

The investigation is ongoing.
