Fourteen Jubilee Lodge residents have died since COVID-19 outbreak and one patient at UHNBC internal medicine outbreak has also died

Fourteen Jubilee Lodge care home residents who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died since the outbreak was declared December 12.

Since the outbreak was declared, 48 residents have tested positive for COVID-19, along with 13 staff. As of January 13, nine of the Jubilee resident cases remain active (25 are now considered recovered).

NH Medical Health Officers declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the Rehab Unit at UHNBC, following a lab-confirmed, nosocomial case of COVID-19 in a rehab patient on January 4.  Monitoring and testing has identified two additional cases, for a total of three patient cases since the outbreak began. 

On December 29, 2020, Northern Health Medical Health Officers declared an outbreak on the Internal Medicine Unit at University Hospital of Northern BC. As of January 13, 19 patients and 12 staff have tested positive for COVID-19 related to the IMU outbreak. One patient death has also been associated with the outbreak.
