Spruce Kings acquire defenceman from Brantford 99ers

The Prince George Spruce Kings have acquired defenceman Josh Wright (’01) from the Brantford 99ers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) in exchange for future considerations.

Wright, 19, from Woodstock, Ontario,  spent the 2019-20 season with the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL, where he finished with three goals and 11 assists in 43 regular season games played. The right-handed 6’2″ defender also had four helpers in four playoff games in 2019-20.

“Josh is a veteran D-man with good size and skills,” said Mike Hawes, Spruce Kings general manager. “He will be a great addition to our team when we are able to play this season and certainly for next season.”
