Adult indoor and outdoor team sports suspended at city facilities

By order of the Provincial Health Officer, all adult indoor and outdoor team sports in civic facilities are suspended effective immediately.

This suspension includes the use of ice surfaces at the Kin Arenas, CN Centre, and Rolling Mix Concrete Arena. The Elksentre remains closed to the public.

Per the new order, youth (under 19) sport groups may still book ice time, but these events will be reverted to Phase Two of viaSport’s Return to Sport guidelines, and restricted to practices and training involving non-contact activities. The city is contacting user groups and displaying signs to notify facility patrons of the application of the new orders.

The CN Centre walking program will continue, as it is neither a group activity nor high intensity. The Prince George Aquatic Centre remains open to the public.

Masks remain mandatory for all employees and visitors to civic facilities. Masks are also mandatory at the Aquatic Centre with the exceptions of the pool and the pool deck.

No spectators are allowed at any indoor or outdoor sport at civic arenas and the Aquatic Centre.
