Northern Lights Estate Winery (NLEW) opened in 2015 with modest expectations of selling 20,000 to 40,000 bottles per year across B.C. Since its inception the winery has far exceeded those goals and has now bottled its 500,000 bottle of wine.
In the past years, NLEW has become the largest fruit winery in the province and has won a multitude of accolades. The winery is a point of pride in Prince George and has won awards for its environmental sustainability, entrepreneurship, and tourism. The “Seduction” wine has won the best fruit wine in B.C. three years in a row and it continues to be awarded with top awards on the national stage for a variety of its products.
Northern Lights Estate Winery is BC’s most Northern Winery and is the largest seller of fruit wines in the province among the 25+ wineries that produce fruit wines. The focus is on producing the highest quality products using fruits other than grape such as rhubarb, strawberries, blueberries, apples, raspberries, Saskatoons, and more. It is locally owned and operated by the Bell family whom have been doing business in Prince George since 1988.
“Our focus has always been about community and creating pride and friendships in Prince George,” said operator Doug Bell. “As this journey has grown, we have been able to share many of the amazing community traits of Prince George with the rest of B.C”
Northern Lights Winery typically sees almost 30,000 people per year traveling from all over the world and prides itself on showcasing the Northern hospitality.
