A Prince George woman, who cannot be identified due to a publication ban, has been sentenced to a further 93 months in jail on child pornography charges.
She has been in jail since she was arrested last year.
The woman was arrested after police received a tip and they subsequently found child pornography on her tablet. In a statement to police she admitted to creating child pornography and electronically distributing child pornography images.
According to the sentencing from Justice Brecknell the woman’s “child pornography collection was not small and was contained on various media; included the victimization of … and other young children; … and she did not stop her criminal activities of her own accord. They continued until she was discovered.”
She was charged with “for a sexual purpose, touch, directly or indirectly, with a part of her body for with an object the body of a person under the age of 16 years; making child pornography; … did transmit, make available, distribute, sell, advertise, import, or export child pornography; did by means of telecommunication, agree with a person or make an arrangement with a person to commit an offence … with respect to another person who is, or who she believed is under the age of 16 years; and escaping lawful custody.”
She pleaded guilty.
