UPDATE: Highway 16 now open as crashes at Mud River and Bednesti cleared

Just before 7:30 a.m., the Prince George RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 16 near Norman Lake Road, west of Prince George. 

Frontline officers and other emergency services attended the scene. The driver of the vehicle was trapped inside the small passenger vehicle.  Beaverley Volunteer Fire Department removed the driver from the vehicle with equipment.  Paramedics transported him to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  

The highway was reopened at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Just after 5 a.m. on Thursday November 5, 2020, the Prince George RCMP received a report of crash on Highway 16 near Lower Mud River Road, west of Prince George. 

An unloaded tractor-trailer unit lost control while coming down a hill.  The unit blocked the entire road and preventing other vehicles from traveling.  No injuries were reported.

The truck was removed and the road reopened just before 8 a.m.

The Prince George RCMP would like to remind the public to take extra precautions when driving at this time of year.  Quick changes in temperatures can occur and different segments of roads can have different conditions.
