For the second year in a row, the Copper Project has been a huge success. The house is sold and Copper Falls Custom Homes along with its trades and suppliers have provided Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation with an incredible donation: a cheque for $100,000.
At the suggestion of Copper Falls Custom Homes, they have picked three areas of need to allocate these funds to.
“We are proud to give back and support the community that supports us, there isn’t a better way than helping to ensure we all have access to the best healthcare,” said Jeff Stewart, co-owner of Copper Falls Custom Homes.
Paediatrics As the Hub of the North, Prince George not only provides services to its citizens and their families, but families from the surrounding northern communities as well. This fund helps to improve that level of care for our younger patients, for healthier families and happier parents regardless of where they enter the system. Maternity, NICU, Surgical, Emergency, or specialized clinics; this is a boost to healthcare concerns for our tiniest patients. Long before children need services or care in the lower mainland, their diagnosis and follow up begins here at home.
Mental Health and Addictions Daily, one-in-five people in Canada personally experience a mental health problem or illness. Directly or indirectly, It’s not discriminatory, manifests in many different ways, and can affect any age, education, income level, or culture. Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation is continuously working with Northern Health to find solutions in this vast and ever growing area of care.
Cardiac The construction industry is no stranger to stress. Tight deadlines, financial uncertainty and physical work all take a toll, making cardiac care more important than ever. Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation has worked with Northern Health to bring state of the art cardiac equipment to UHNBC, and will continue to with the goal of attracting and retaining the best cardiac specialists for the region, and improving patient outcomes through better detection and diagnosis, procedures, and follow up care. Never before has the need been greater in these three areas.
“We are truly touched by the level of commitment Jeff, Brent, and the Copper Falls Team along with their dedicated trades, suppliers, and partners have for healthcare in the North,” said Judy Neiser, CEO of the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. “We’ve worked closely with them each year to be sure that their contribution is recognized and would encourage others to check out our website and support all these individuals and companies who have supported healthcare so greatly. On top of building beautiful and much loved homes, they truly are giving generously to support greater health outcomes for Prince George and the region.”
