Goaltender Jordan Fairlie commits to the Spruce Kings

Goaltender Jordan Fairlie (’02) has committed to the Prince George Spruce Kings for the 2020-21 season.

“We are very familiar with Jordan and what he is capable of as a goaltender,” said GM Mike Hawes. “ With that in mind, we are excited to be adding him to our roster.”

Fairlie, who hails from Fort St. John, spent the 2019-20 season with the Cariboo Cougars of the BC Major Midget League (BCMML). The 17-year-old sported a 10-7-1 record in 18 games played with a 2.47 GAA. Before joining the Cougars, Fairlie spent the 2018-19 season with the Okanagan Hockey Academy of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) where he had a .906 save percentage in 19 games played.

“With the uncertainty regarding the access to affiliate players this season, I decided that we should carry three goaltenders,” said Hawes. “It isn’t unlike what they do in NCAA hockey.”

The Spruce Kings pre-season schedule continues October 23 in Merritt against the Centennials, and then on Sunday October 25 at home against the same Merritt Centennials. You can catch all of the action on HockeyTV.
