One dead following single-vehicle accident on Upper Fraser Road

A 67-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle accident on the 6200-block of Upper Fraser Road east of Prince George Wednesday.

Police and emergency services were called out at about 8 p.m. and when they arrived found an over turned SUV in the ditch.  The man was deceased at the scene.

Evidence and witness statements have led investigators to believe that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road.  The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.  He was the only occupant in the vehicle.

The BC Coroners Service attended the scene and is conducting a parallel fact-finding investigation to confirm cause of death.  No further information about the identity of the deceased will be released.
