Second round of emergency community support fund taking applications

United Way of Northern BC (UWNBC) is accepting funding applications for the second round of funding of the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF from October 5 to October 30, 2020.

The ECSF continues to provide financial support to charities and other qualified donators adapting their frontline services to support vulnerable Canadians during the COVID 19 pandemic.

The Government of Canada has released this balance of funding for ECSF and it is being administered in collaboration with United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada, and the Canadian Red Cross.

United Way of Northern BC is supporting an additional investment of just over $288,000 into communities in northern B.C.

“It truly is a privilege to be able to support so many agencies through Canada’s ECSF,” said Trista Spencer, executive director UWNBC. “This second round of funding will take the supports one step further to providing what’s needed for the vulnerable in our communities across northern B.C. In the face of this pandemic, in addition to the usual challenges life presents, our vulnerable, and the agencies that support them, need help more than ever.”

The Emergency Community Support Fund is funded by the Government of Canada.
