A police cruiser was hit by a bullet during yesterday’s dramatic chase through the city.
RCMP responded to a drive-by shooting on Bellos Street, the third at that location in the past two weeks, shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The suspects fled and three men were subsequently arrested when their vehicle crashed into a fence at 10th Avenue and McBride Crescent.
Police say evidence found during the investigation has shown that a suspect discharged a firearm at police in pursuit, striking the windshield of a police cruiser. The officer was uninjured.
Investigators continue to gather evidence and obtain statements from witnesses.
