Canada-wide warrant issued for Prince George man

Steven Fontaine

The Prince George RCMP are requesting the public’s help in locating a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

On Wednesday September 2, 2020, a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large was issued for 37-year-old Steven James Fontaine. The arrest warrant was issued after Fontaine failed to meet the conditions of his release by missing curfew at his designated residence in Prince George.

Fontaine has an extensive criminal record in many communities across Western Canada, and should be considered violent, say police.

All efforts to locate Fontaine have been negative. Police are now asking for the public’s help in locating him. He is believed to still be in the Prince George area.

Fontaine is described as:

  • Indigenous male
  • 178 cm (5’10)
  • 91 kg (200 lbs)
  • Brown hair
  • Brown eyes
  • He has tattoos including James written on the left side of his forehead above his eye.
If located, contact the RCMP or the police of jurisdiction in your area. Do not confront Fontaine.

If you have any information about Steven James Fontaine or where he might be, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477 or online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only). You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers. If you provide information that leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
