As B.C. voters prepare to head to the polls October 24, The British Columbia Broadcast Consortium will present a debate to air on TV, radio and digital platforms.
The 90-minute televised debate will take place live Tuesday October 13 from 6:30-8 and will feature three party leaders:
- BC NDP leader John Horgan
- BC Liberal leader Andrew Wilkinson
- BC Green Party leader Sonia Furstenau
The conversation will be moderated by Shachi Kurl (president of the non-profit Angus Reid Institute). There will be direct questions to the candidates about current issues in BC and there will be opportunity for head to head debate between the individual party leaders.
2020 BC Leaders Debate will air October 13 – allowing time for British Columbians to vote by mail ahead of general voting day on October 24.
2020 BC Leaders Debate is presented by the British Columbia Broadcast Consortium. Members of the consortium are Bell Media (CTV Vancouver), CBC (TV and Radio), Corus Entertainment Inc. (Global BC, CKNW, BC 1), Rogers Sports & Media (Citytv, OMNI BC, NEWS 1130), CHEK, and CPAC.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, access to the debate location is being strictly controlled and participants will follow public health guidelines.
There will be no live audience at the venue and reporters are asked to watch the debate remotely. Post-debate media availability with the leaders will be at the discretion of each political party, and will be facilitated by each political party.
