Crews are rebuilding one of the sections of boardwalk at Ferguson Lake Nature Reserve to ensure it lasts for many years to come. Many of the old wooden posts have started to fail and so new steel posts (sunk more than 10 feet into the ground) and new wood cross-pieces and decking are being installed. The work is taking place at the south end of the park, so avoid that part of the trail if you visit the park over the next few days.
If you’ve never visited Ferguson Lake park, make it a priority this fall. The park features a 2.5km trail that circles the entire lake. Terrific features of the park include a dock and another long boardwalk at the northwest corner of the park. Some of the wood decking on that boardwalk will be replaced next week.
