Police make more arrests connected to drug trade

The Prince George RCMP continue efforts to disrupt drug trafficking groups associated to the recent violence in Prince George.

Thursday evening the detachment’s Street Crew Unit arrested two suspects believed to be trafficking in controlled substances.

The first suspect, a 30-year-old Prince George man, was found in possession of fentanyl and cash, while the second man, a 28-year-old Prince George resident, was found in possession of a pistol that turned out to be a BB gun.

The investigation led officers to a residence on the 3000-block of Third Avenue.  A search warrant was obtained which led to the seizure of a rifle and various types of ammunition, as well as drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Both suspects were later released pending further investigation and charge assessment from the Prosecution Service of Canada.

A third man, a 34-year-old Prince George resident, was located at a local hotel and found to be breaching the conditions of his probation.  He has been held in custody overnight and will appear in court later today.
