Cap gun used in attempted armed robbery

Just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, the Prince George RCMP were called to a report of a robbery in a parking lot on the 400-block of Carney Street.

Officers attended the area including a police dog service team.  Officers learned that a man had approached a woman in the parking lot, produced what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded money.  The suspect fired the gun twice, leading the victim and witnesses to believe the gun was a cap gun.  The suspect fled empty handed, west towards Douglas Street before police arrived.  All efforts to locate the suspect were negative.

The suspect was wearing dark clothing.
