Spruce Kings extend communications manager’s contract

Spruce Kings communications manager Cole Waldie.

The Prince George Spruce Kings  have extended the contract of communications manager and play-by-play broadcaster Cole Waldie throughout the end of the 2021-22 season.

“To be able to live in my hometown, and work for one of the most prestigious organizations in the BCHL for two more years is a privilege and an honour,” said Waldie.

Waldie has been with the Spruce Kings since the beginning of September 2019 and called all 58 Regular Season Games and the Spruce Kings playoffs on Hockey TV, Mixlr, and the Game of the Week on 93.1 CFIS FM in Prince George.

“We are glad to have Cole on our team for the next two seasons,” said Business Operations Manager Kyle Anderson. “He has a big passion for the game, the Spruce Kings player’s stories, and the professionalism we desire in that position”.

Waldie will also continue with his media relations role, graphic design, and social media, while taking on the Spruce Kings Youth Development Program as an administrator, and mini-plans/group ticket sales when the BCHL returns to play.

“We have seen a large increase in follows and interactions on our social media channels and an amazing graphic design product being produced in the past year. These are critical in the future of the Spruce Kings, and I am glad to have Cole stabilize those areas moving forward,” said Anderson.
