Two people are facing charges after workers at a local business called police to report suspicious activity while the pair was in the store. The store employees were able to provide a description of the individuals as well as the vehicle they were driving.
A short time later, the vehicle was seen leaving a known drug house in the community and police attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle fled from police however, later came to a stop after making multiple attempts to evade the police. The driver and passenger were arrested without further incident.
During the investigation, police recovered a stolen 9mm Chiappa rifle with a loaded magazine. A box of 9mm ammo along with a metal Airsoft handgun with a live .22 calibre round in the breech.
Further evidence led police to executing two search warrants at two separate residences in Dawson Creek on Monday, August 10 where police seized suspected cocaine, meth and fentanyl, over $4,000 in cash and several firearms.
The two suspects were held in police custody for a court appearance on Tuesday August 11. The investigation is ongoing.
